Is chromium necessary for this script to run?
Is it possible to use other low resources browser to run couple of grafana pages and a weather page? Could Midori be a good contender?

Wider selection of browser support is not on our roadmap at the moment. It requires extensive commitment to make sure everything else works the same way for any new changes introduced (and would need some kind of automated browser testing for maintaining consistency, that's just not practical at the moment).

This is the script that runs browser: https://github.com/debloper/piosk/blob/main/scripts/runner.sh - once installed, it will be put in /opt/piosk/scripts/runner.sh

You are welcome to refactor it to run the browser of your choice; please share your journey here, if you make progress.

I might do some testing with Dillo or Midori and see how it reacts. If it's close enough, where the features are close, then I'll report back with the changes required to make it work. Then we could possibly have a 'which browser' prompt somewhere in either the installation or dashboard.
