Dr. Sturman is a consulting CTO, working with companies of all sizes from
four-person startups to large enterprises experiencing rapid growth.
As an experienced software developer, CTO, and VP Engineering, he brings a wealth of knowledge
to software teams as they face the challenges of growing their development and culture.
<p>
Dr. Sturman has been active in the fields of computer graphics and animation, virtual reality, human-computer interfaces,
and Internet applications for over 35 years, first as a software developer and later as a CTO or VP engineering for
a number of startups. He received his Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from MIT and his Ph.D. from the MIT Media Laboratory.
He has worked on leading edge technologies at Bell Labs, NYIT, MIT, Medialab Paris, Microsoft, and Amazon.
</p>
In 1998, Dr. Sturman became VP Technology for
<a href="http://www.mamamedia.com" target=_blank>MaMaMedia</a>, an award-winning Internet site devoted to interactive
web activities for children. From there, he became the Chief Technology Officer for Acclaim Entertainment, a major developer and
producer of console video games (now defunct).
In 2003, Dr. Sturman became a founding member and CTO for Massive Incorporated which
created a new medium for
advertising by selling and delivering advertising into video games in real-time. In 2006
<a href="http://www.microsoft.com" target=_blank>Microsoft Corporation</a> acquired Massive and
Dr. Sturman stayed on to integrate Massive's technlogy into Microsoft's advertising platform.

<p>
Since then, he served as the CTO for <a href="http://www.genarts.com" target="_blank">GenArts, Inc.</a>, a premier
provider of specialized visual effects software for the film, broadcast and video industries, and was a Sr. Director
of Software Engineering at
<a href="http://www.waudible.com" target="_blank">Audible.com</a>, establishing and leading a new software development
office for them in Boston.
<p>
Currently, Dr. Sturman consults with start-ups providing strategic and technological
support through challenging periods of growth and coaching technology leadership.
He also performs technical due diligence for private equity funds serving
as a Director with Tech Economy in London, and is the CTO co-founder of
<a href="https://stylaquin.com">Stylquin</a>.
<p>
Dr. Sturman is a founding member of the Boston and New York CTO Clubs.
