Recently @nfahlgren had a project where it made sense to compare small regions of HSV data against data collected from a tool measuring spectral indices from a small area of clamped leaf. That required being able to make small labeled masks inside a larger plant mask, which may have other applications.
Describe the solution you'd like
Plan is just to add Noah's functions to PlantCV.
Additional context
Probably not something we will have tutorials around but could be a part of a broader set of "downsampling" tools.
