There is huge issue regarding OpenDocument Presentation documents. Contrary to how ODT works, ODP pages (slides) consist of frames of text-boxes and images. So there's not one flow of text and images.

And even while the specification seems to allow image frames inside a text-box, LibreOffice does not render those images as expected. So one course of action is to fix LibreOffice (if it behaves incorrectly) or another is to find a way to work around it (which may break with how other slide backends work, which is undesirable).
