LibreOffice bug: Flat ODF support not integrated on Linux and Windows #22

At the moment both Windows and Linux have issues with seamless Flat ODF integration.

For Windows the problem is that the XSLT Filters are not installed by default, so the work-around is to do a modified installation and enable the XSLT Filters during the installation. An existing installation can also be modified to include them using the installer.

For Linux the problem is that the file associations of Flat ODF files are not working due to the missing mime-types. So a work-around is to associate the Flat ODF files in Gnome or KDE with LibreOffice. You can do this for .fodt, (Text) .fods (Spreadsheet) and.fodp (Presentation).

As reported in the bug-tracker, Flat ODF support will be enable on Windows by default during installation starting from the LibreOffice 3.4.6 and 3.5.1 release. No information yet about the file associations.
