Sending Preference to Chrome is adding backslashes to all my quotation marks.

I attempt to add a Chrome preference with the following code:

const prefsetting = '{"[*.]mydomain.com,*":{"expiration":"0","last_modified":"13252016115118958","model":0,"setting":1}}';

launchOptions.preferences.default['automatic_downloads'] = prefsetting;

When Cypress starts running, I open up the Chrome Preference file and see this:
"automatic_downloads":"{\"[*.]mydomain.com,*\":{\"expiration\":\"0\",\"last_modified\":\"13252016115118958\",\"model\":0,\"setting\":1}}"

Somehow it has added escape characters to all my quotation marks, causing the preference to not work. How can I send this preference and have it add it to the Preference file as is, without adding backslashes?

Managed to solve this on my own, but running into other problems, will create a separate discussion for them if I can’t resolve.
