replacing cy.route() with cy.intercept() for fileUpload

I was using earlier following code for file upload with multi-part form-data:

.server()
.route("POST", url)
.as("uploadFileRequest")
.window()
.then(window => {
var xhr = new window.XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.open("POST", url);
xhr.send(formData);
})
.wait("@uploadFileRequest");

Now after cypress v6 onwards, cy.route() has been deprecated, How to make this code work with cy.intercept().
has anyone figured it out yet?
