cy.visit urls that declared inside /etc/hosts from ci env

I have a somehow "weird" scenario, is it possible to access a URL (whose IP address is declared in /etc/hosts) from a ci/cd env e.g. gitlab @jennifer-shehane

Obviously I can change the /etc/hosts file on local machine, but maybe not on a ci/cd pipeline because having K8, docker, etc.
