What would you like?

Add Google Chrome to Linux/arm64 browser images if / when this browser becomes available for arm64 on Linux.

An alternative might be Chrome for Testing in the future. This browser is however currently not supported by Cypress and is not available in an arm64 variant either.

Why is this needed?

Chrome is needed on Linux/arm64 to complement the availability on Linux/amd64 Cypress Docker images.

Other

Alternatives

  • For non-Docker use, Google Chrome on arm64 is available for macOS. See for instance the GitHub runner image macos-14.
  • Use Chromium package available through Debian.

Current status according to https://issues.chromium.org/issues/374811603#comment10 is that
"Release Chrome for linux-arm64" remains unsupported i.e. unavailable.
