I would like to start to add translations to the interface. Any preferences for libraries/style? i18n-express?

I would recommend https://www.i18next.com/ in combination with https://crowdin.com/. Then you only need to manage the source translation in the repository and you can have other people add translations thorough crowdin. Crowdin is free for open source projects, and really has a great translation and proof reading interface. It can also be integrated with github and will automatically open PR's for new translations.
