Building a lap time simulator mainly based on this guide

  1. Writing all the formulas as functions in Matlab
  2. Using functions to calculate parameters needed for laptime
  3. Using track data and formulas to calculate lap time
  • Skidpad (24.232 seconds/lap)
  • Endurance
  • Autocross
  • Acceleration

Calculations
Need to implement:

  • Clean up the graphs
  • Plot max speed and radius separately
  • Engine RPM and gear
  • Throttle position

Issues:

  • Corner radius values jumps to infinity between straight and curved sectors, need to smooth it out

Skidpad
Lap Time: 24.232 seconds/lap (timing starts after straight)
Track Length: 242.21 meters

Issues:
12/06/2020

  • Mark when each circle is complete
  • Calculated latG goes up to 2.25G, should be around 1.5G (check corner speed)

Endurance
Lap Time: 165.46 seconds/lap
Track Length: 2650.2 meters

Issues:
12/06/2020

  • Scaling of the plots is off
  • Lap time is ~5 seconds slower than expected, look into calculations?
