Beets not writing tags to files

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but it's handling moving the files around perfectly, it's just if I run a write what it says it's going to change, doesn't actually change in the files and if I run a write again, it shows the exact same output

So I disabled id3v23 and artist_sort, and original_x are writing now, but albumtype still isn't

Exact same issue here and I've been wasting more time than I should trying to figure it out. But here's what little I've gathered so far.

When using id3v23... that ID3 version doesn't officially support original_month or original_day, only the original_year field (as a TORY tag). So there's no mapping to write a tag for the field. Probably should be support for writing to the traditional TXXX:origdate tag like Picard did. (I think?)

And as for albumtype, that field is just the first entry in albumtypes. It appears to just be a derived value, and can't be written to file. At least that's my experience.

artist_sort is another head-scratcher. Never writes to the file and I've not found a reference in the code. You'd think it would be in the mediafile package, but nope. (obviously a value is retrieved for the field from musicbrainz and its written to the db, just no apparent way to write to the media file.)

Nevermind about artist_sort. Its actually there mapped to a TSOP tag. Somehow I missed it.
