Might be a feature request for new ui

Currently when I have multiple matches for an album, it prints the album over 3 lines, rather than the previous 1 line.

Is it possible to replace that functionality?

I have added the following to my config.yaml, basically the defaults but a very wide cmd line:

No I think this is just how the new UI is designed. This is indeed a feature request.

For now, I can only suggest you try to adapt your eyes to it - I had problems with that myself but after a couple of days I saw the advantages of having e.g "Data Source" in one vertical column when quickly looking through a lot of candidates.

But anyway I understand that sometimes horizontally using all the space of the terminal and having one candidate per line makes more sense when threre are thousands of lines already.

I'm not sure how difficult such an option would be and if anyone will pick it up anytime soon. Maybe you want another beets coding challenge yourself? :-)))

I have tried swapping the layouts around and there is no change to the output

Look like I need to look to join the lines in this section commands.py for the print_

Yes, seems like lines 922, 927, 932 print out those 3 lines separately.

Looks like the following needs updating as well to respect the terminal_width as well

Yeah I also realized there are several places were this new "terminal width limit" is actually not respected! We should improve/streamline that!
