What is the intent here?

Because the "tripcodes" are published online, it's possible they could be brute forced. I recently added a salt to prevent reverse lookups, but it's still possible. So editing might be difficult.

A draft mode also has issues, right now I claim I don't have cookies or localstorage, so where would I put a draft?

I could potentially see a button with "fork", but right now you could just copy/pasta, so it would just be a convince button, not really a new feature.

After talking in person the real feature is creating a draft.

I imagine the workflow might look something like:

  • Start typing
  • Click "save draft"
  • Get a unique url like "/posts/create/draft/9B71D224BD6"
  • Can re-save or publish from the url
