We were recently bitten by the fact that our tar.gz archives failed to extract - hence the need for this feature.
If before uploading, the tar archive can be tested for integrity.. the admin can sleep well that night :) Would be a great add-on to 'safe'.

Or is it possible to have a callback when a tar is ready? So that any developer can programatically perform validations on the tarball?
