Hi all,
I'm just having a look at containers and I'm getting stuck on the first tutorial. :/
(https://github.com/apple/container/blob/main/docs/tutorial.md)

When I get to the step to build the container with -
container build --tag web-test --file Dockerfile .
It builds something then pops up this error.
"The file “Dockerfile” couldn’t be opened because there is no such file."

Does anyone know what might be causing that? I have a plaintext file named "Dockerfile" with all the instructions in the "web-test" folder.

After it fails if i try container list --all, there is an image there.

Any idea what might be tripping me up there?

Weird. I just tested the exact steps below and have no issues 🤔

Create the directory

mkdir web-test
cd web-test

Created a Dockerfile in that directory with the content below

FROM docker.io/python:alpine
WORKDIR /content
RUN apk add curl
RUN echo '<!DOCTYPE html><html><head><title>Hello</title></head><body><h1>Hello, world!</h1></body></html>' > index.html
CMD ["python3", "-m", "http.server", "80", "--bind", "0.0.0.0"]

Build

container build --tag web-test --file Dockerfile .

Are you sure your Dockerfile is in the correct place? What is your output when you run container --version? Do you have a list of the exact commands you executed?
