Include icons or contrast colours to show task & DAG run status to make colour blind inclusive view.

Current Status

Currently tasks & DAG run status is denoted by colour on the left pannel. Below are the screenshots for DAG run status and task status .

However, it requires an additional step for colour blind users hover to over task or DAG to know the the status of the DAGs. Below are the screenshots for various colour blind types generated from coblis color blindness simulator .

I have only updated the scenarios where I have noticed significant difference.

What is the available alternate ?
Currently under Graph view clicking on a task provides status in words. However, that requires multiple level zoom due to font color and size incase of multiple task. Below is the screenshot -

What is the suggested alternate ?

• Include icons - Including icons along with colour will provide more clarity. However this increases the risk of of clutter.

• Update the colours entirely - I personally don't think this is a good option as might lead to lot of confusion.

• Provide toggle option - A toggle option to switch to colour blind inclusive view. This will ensure that both the colours are available and user can switch accordingly. I personally think this is the best choice.

I would like to open this topic for discussion and to know what the community thinks about it & if there is any alternate suggestion.
