Hi Antmicro Team,

First, thank you for providing this excellent open-source Jetson Orin baseboard design! I’m a graduate student at the University of Waterloo, and I am working on my own baseboard design based on your project. I am fairly new to Jetson community so sorry for any dumb question ahead.

For simplicity (and to avoid potential issues with USB-C protocol chips), I’ve decided to remove the USB-C DP chip. However, the actual USBx connections to the Jetson module remain unchanged.

Here’s how I plan to use USB on my baseboard:

I need to retain the debug (FTDI) USB functionality for debugging purposes.
I need the ability to flash images to the Jetson module.
I will connect a USB 3.0 camera
I am planning to use the following base image as a starting point:
https://dl.antmicro.com/projects/nvidia-jetson-orin-baseboard-demo-p3509-a02-p3767-0000-20240723125144.tegraflash.tar.gz

Given these changes and requirements, I have a few questions:

  1. Would the original image still work with the removal of the TI USB-C DP chip, given that the USBx connections to the Jetson remain the same?
  2. Would I need to modify the device tree for USB-C PD hardware change?
  3. Does the TI USB-C chip require flashing or a specific configuration in the base image for proper functionality?

Thank you in advance for your support and for making these resources available to the community!
