I get extreme slowdowns with this extension in Brave

I narrowed it down to this extension. My browser becomes unusable slow, like I can not switch tabs without an insane long delay it seems like something is running in a loop and overflowing things.

Not sure what I should provide for debug.

#2093 here is someone with slowdown (of a different kind if seems) and in Firefox. Maybe it's related. But what I get is really making the entire browser unusable slow.

Did you try it with empty profile/default settings (of browser and extension)? Because nothing like that happens in my Brave on Ubuntu.

I think its actually not this extension. Its weird behavior that seems to be related to playing video. Sometimes Brave has some severe slowdowns after playing videos, and its not YouTube only as far as I can tell. It might not be any extension at all.
