How do I run a slash command and get the response?

I'm trying to run a slash command and gets its response. I did some digging that lead me to this discussion: #495

But I can't find anything example code that uses MessageReference. The documentation is hard to make put to use without example code. Could you provide some example code for MessageReference?

@TheDevYellowy I thought this code only worked for DMs. How do I make it listen for a reply from a bot in a discord server?
