Distribution Name

Windows Server

Distribution Version

ltsc2025

Justification for Inclusion

Currently, eclipse-temurin is built against ltsc2022 and 1809. Concidering 1809 is EOL, concidering ltsc2022 reaching active support in about two years, concidering it would be ideal to have two supported windows server versions, concidering ltsc2025 has been released since beginning of this month, it would be justified to start building against ltsc2025

Long-Term Support Confirmation

  • This distribution is an LTS version and will receive long-term support from its maintainers.

@mwoudstra I have removed the PMC-agenda label, as this is an admin label for PMC members to flag issues for discussion. If you believe that it requires a PMC decision please reach out to a PMC member (via an appropriate Slack channel is a good way).

This would require the docker hub team to support ltsc-2025 which I believe they currently do not. CC @yosifkit @tianon is there a plan to add support soon?

We've talked about adding it, but we don't currently (actions/runner-images#10806 is probably the "shortest" path to getting support ATM).
