Language Files Import and Export Feature in Adapt Authoring Tool. Where should I start.

I am trying to customize Adapt authoring Tool to have

• Implementation of Language Tab for course
• Listing of available Languages for course
• Default language Selection Option (I guess this is already there in Authoring tool)
• Language file export and Import option

All of these options are supported by Adapt Framework.

I just want to know what will be the best approach to start.

Will building an extension for this is good Idea? if yes please help me with few of the resources where i can find ways to implement extensions for adapt.

Language file export and Import option

Talking about this, I've tried and succeed export language files without exporting the whole zip file, but failed to import the translated language file, I'm still working on it, if I am able to finish that, will let you know.
