[Feature request]: Add option to dim taskbar (incl. icons) for OLED monitor owners to prevent burn-in #61
Comments
i dont see why not i will add it in the final release of 3.0 |
would you want to dim it as in lowering the brightness or just setting a lower opacity? |
What's the difference? Wouldn't lowering the opacity be the same as reducing the brightness if it's localized to only the taskbar area? |
Well you can already reduce the opacity of the taskbar |
Is this in the beta release? I'm not seeing the option. |
just tested it and the web function doesn't even work 👍 |
Omg yes! It's actually quite good already. If it can be more easily enabled (not having to dig through buttons/menus), then it would be really good! Also, I would appreciate it if you could hide the 1px taskbar line too when the dim option is enabled, or have a separate option to disable it. |
Sorry to bother you, but have you considered adding an easily accessible UI and making a new release of RainbowTaskbar? Possibly also pushing that to the Microsoft Store if there are no bugs. I would like to share your project on the r/OLED_Gaming subreddit so more people who like to keep their taskbar up can use it to lessen the risk of burn-in. Thanks! |
well i guess i could add a global setting that overrides the selected config's settings 👍 |
Describe your feature request.
Hey. :) I know this might be out of scope for this project but given that it's a taskbar customization tool, I’d like to suggest adding an option to permanently dim the taskbar, allowing it to undim only in true fullscreen mode (e.g., when watching a movie or playing a game in fullscreen). I would greatly appreciate this, and I’m sure many others who use an OLED monitor would feel the same!
