• Self-reloads every five minutes;
• It uses PHP to build the page from text-file blocks (the APIs are only pulled when necessary rather than every time the page is loaded, keeping me in control over the poll rates). Python is used to collect and process incoming JSON data into a MySQL database and create the text files and area map that are pulled by PHP.
• There is an extra Python script that lets me send markdown text (via a Shortcut on my iPhone and Watch) that is then posted in HTML to a “free text” area of the page (for example, when I turn on Work or Sleep Focus on my iPhone or I want to put a note up for readers, that information can be relayed to the NOW page as Markdown).

Taking a page from @aaronpk’s own web site, started using Overland to show a map of my approximate location as the cover image on my Notion-driven web site’s front page. There’s a portion of the Python script that I’m using to process the feeds from Overland that creates and serves the map image.

I also bought a Mophie Juice Pack to provide additional power with a thin profile so I can let Overland run all day with per-second precision without exhausting my iPhone’s battery.

The aforementioned Python script was updated to process the Overland input into newline-delimited GeoJSON (NDJSON) so that it can be quickly loaded into Google BigQuery for later analysis.
