Overview

This page is intended to collect information for server administrators.

There are many, many mission parameters for Domination. Resources here can help understand how game configurations impact gameplay and server performance.

Mission parameters

This is only a partial selection of interesting missions parameters. To see the full list of mission parameters with detailed descriptions see Params.

  • mission type

main targets only / side targets only / both

note having two targets can split the focus of players, sparsely populated servers may want to choose main or side

  • enable fatigue

movement makes units tired

  • enable sway

unit hand shaking affects accuracy when firing a weapon

  • ranked / unranked

ranked will restrict weapons and combat features according to the player score

  • check target for enemies

victory condition may include clearing almost all enemies from the target area - a longer fight in each target area when this is enabled

  • respawn groups

an enemy group will spawn to recapture HQs - challenging for small player groups to hold captured HQs

  • enable fog

note: Domination automatically reduces bot skill and accuracy when fog is present

  • view distance

can or cannot be changed by player / 5km default and 10km max

players with high-end hardware usually want more than the default setting, longer viewdistance is nice eye candy

  • revive allowed

enabled by default, disable for a more hardcore experience

  • enemy group settings

see below for more information

  • armor at mission / side mission

Normal / Less / None

Note that Domination automatically balances the infantry count according to the armor setting. ie-- "None armor" games have more enemy infantry than "Normal armor" games.

  • flying - pilots only

a strict way to enforce flying rules

  • enable civilians

civilian centers and areas of focus are randomly generated, this has a negative impact on server performance

  • first capture hq in center of town

this setting forces the players to fight into the center of town, brings fighting into an urban focus

Enemy infantry groups

There are several types of enemy infantry:

non-configurable

these groups are not configurable, number of groups is determined by the mission "armor" setting (less armor, more infantry)

  • guard - stationary
  • patrol - move along randomly placed waypoints around the target area

configurable

number of these groups is determined by a specific mission parameter

  • occupy infantry

spawn inside buildings, free to move immediately

(configurable) number of groups

(configurable) spawn area radius (in meters)

  • ambush infantry

spawn inside buildings, free to move when firedNear is triggered (if a gun fired within 69m of the unit)

(configurable) number of groups

(configurable) spawn area radius (in meters)

  • overwatch infantry

spawn inside buildings, never move

(configurable) number of groups

(configurable) spawn area radius (in meters)

  • snipers infantry

spawn in high elevation positions in a building or on roof

(configurable) number of groups

(configurable) sniper "awareness" - unit is aware of player positions and is scripted to fire at them if line-of-sight is favorable, this will negatively affect server performance
