Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Nope. uwu

Is this related specifically to ViaFabric?
(Optional)

  • It seems to not apply for ViaVersion/ViaBackwards/ViaRewind installed on Bukkit/BungeeCord/Sponge/Velocity servers.

Describe the solution you'd like

client-side-force-version:
- 2b2t.org: 1.12.2
- play.tasmantismc.com: >1.18
  • Add a new client-side-force-version setting block in the viafabric.yml that allows us to permanently set forced versions for specific servers
  • Make the version entries support wildcards and < > operators
  • Add a textbox on the ingame server entry edit screen which modifies the first matching entry in the settings)
  • Hide the textbox if viafabric.yml/hide-button is true

Describe alternatives you've considered
Manual labor

Which versions is this for?
all of dem

Interesting idea, but why would this need wildcars / <> operators? You can only join with one specific version a server or am I missunderstanding something here?

i believe this was included so that people would fallback to the version that is highest but also compatible version for that server in terms of wildcard filtering although it's kinda complex to do.
