Description
GeoGSBPM Task team (2021)
GeoGSBPM is an extension of GSBPM with additional texts to highlight where geospatial related activities are important. Future GSIM revision team (2022-23) can choose to include some added texts if they think are needed.
UNECE response: The updated GSBPM includes a reference to GeoGSBPM and various other changes related to geospatial.
Portugal
We suggest complementing the last sentence in the point 101 concerning the use of tools by including “services interfaces (e.g., Web Map Services and Web Feature Services)”. Phase 7 (7.4)
UNECE response: We would suggest that this may be too detailed for the sub-process text, which already contains a mention of websites.
France
May be had few key elements from GeoGSBPM (importance to define the need for geospatial, collecting geospatial during the collection...)
UNECE: Response: References to geospatial have been made in various places, including in Phase 4. This may be too detailed for Phase 1, which talks in general terms about needs.
Portugal
We suggest adding a final reference to the Geospatial View of GSBPM (version 1.0, May 2021) in all sub-processes that include geospatial-related activities and considerations as they’re identified and described. This suggestion aims to reinforce the role of GeoGSBPM as a strategic and technical complement to the GSBPM’s implementation by establishing a formal link between both frameworks. Such references could be: “This sub-process includes geospatial-related activities and enhanced considerations as described in the GeoGSBPM” (with the link to the document). It includes the following sub-processes and respective phase:
o 1.2. Consult and confirm needs (Specify needs)
o 1.3. Establish output objectives (Specify needs)
o 1.5. Check data availability (Specify needs)
o 1.6. Prepare and submit business case (Specify needs)
o 2.1. Design outputs (Design phase)
o 2.2. Design variable descriptions (Design phase)
o 2.3. Design collection (Design phase)
o 2.4. Design frame and sample (Design phase)
o 2.5. Design processing and analysis (Design phase)
o 3.1. Reuse or build collection instruments (Build)
o 3.3. Reuse or build dissemination components (Build)
o 4.2. Set up collection (Collect)
o 4.3. Run collection (Collect)
o 4.4. Finalise collection (Collect)
o 5.1. Integrate data (Process)
o 5.2. Classify and code (Process)
o 5.5. Derive new variables and units (Process)
o 6.1. Prepare draft outputs (Analyse)
o 6.2. Validate outputs (Analyse)
o 6.3. Interpret and explain outputs (Analyse)
o 6.4. Apply disclosure control (Analyse)
o 7.2. Produce dissemination products (Disseminate)
o 7.4. Promote dissemination products (Disseminate)
o 7.5. Manage user support (Disseminate)
UNECE response: A general reference to GeoGSBPM has been added to the introduction rather than to the text of each of the 24 above-mentioned sub-processes.
