I'm happy to share, my thoughts as I should mention that most of the ideas came from Reddit, based on user feedback. The YouTube integration was my own initiative mainly because services like Qobuz, Deezer, and Tidal already exist, and I wanted to explore something different. It took me a while to get it working, since the tech stack was pretty challenging to understand at first. Later, I came across a Reddit post about soundtracks and thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I initially used the Lidarr API, then switched to the MB API as it has more parameters you can use. Like the fuzzy search. The implementation is admittedly a bit clunky and I'm sorry for that. Once I saw it was feasible, I added some more ImportLists. On Reddit many users responded saying YouTube’s audio quality isn’t great and suggested Soulseek as an alternative. I looked into it and eventually got it working, though it was tough in the beginning. And you know I squash 90% of the of commits locally so the GitHub repo does not get messed up. As for Soularr. I’m not sure it’s relevant for my case. Since slskd is written in C#, like Sonarr and Radarr, I preferred working directly with the source code rather than trying to reverse-engineer a Python implementation. I never learned python and most likely never will. I’m not familiar with your project, but from what I can tell, LidarrTube and Soularr differ significantly in both functionality and architecture. They don’t really share common ground. At one point, I did look into the arr scripts to see if there was any overlap, but these aren’t officially supported by the Servarr team. |

@TypNull thanks for the insight, I was just worried you stole my idea haha Do you think that downloading music from soulseek offers much which services like qobuz dont? I wanted to try downloading music off YouTube, however the problem is that YouTube seems to be blocked on my server. Any ideas? this tool I understand, LidaTube, Soularr, and my pairarr script is all in 1 in this tool. |

I don’t think Soulseek offers much beyond what Qobuz already provides. Personally, I lean more toward Qobuz, but not everyone has an account there. Soulseek does have some niche tracks that Qobuz might not carry, so it works well either as a standalone solution or as a complementary tool. In the next release the Lucida indexer then hopefully brings AmazonMusic to Lidarr. A big reason many people prefer Soulseek is that it’s free and no subscription required. As for YouTube, it's known to block certain requests, but that can be bypassed by using cookies and a poToken generator. However, this workaround only works with the develop version, since the stable release hasn’t been updated in about four months. You can install NodeJS in the container or use the Invidious token generator, details are available in the development README. That said, you don’t need to use every feature. Everything is opt-in. If someone just wants YouTube access, that’s totally fine. Same goes for tools like Queue Cleaner or ListenBrainz import lists. It’s more of a modular toolbox than a one-size-fits-all solution. https://wiki.servarr.com/lidarr/plugins I haven’t personally installed LidarrTube, Soularr or Pariarr, but they can be run together, assuming Soularr resolves its known issues with slskd, as I’ve heard. |

I just found out about this tool. I'm kind of disappointed that I have created a tool myself for soundtrack import from Radarr / Sonarr at http://github.com/larsenv/pairarr/ and support for doing the same thing with this tool was done the same day after...
That being said, it mostly gets the same thing done, the "strong" import feature with it is pretty much using a equivalent query to MusicBrainz from what I use, except that this tool requires a match over 0.80 to be added and mine requires 0.85
It's a bad coincidence that both of these were released so close to each other, and also other scripts do what this tool does, but this is more of a AIO tool. Soularr does Soulseek downloading, LidaTube makes use of YouTube downloading... If the idea came from those projects please add credit
