This is currently expected behavior, sorry! We are currently planning to change the sign-up process for the mailinglist, then it'll be fixed and people will get a confirmation email.

I got no confirmation email when I signed up to the email list, which makes me question whether the signup succeeded or not.
Is that an error or an expected behavior?
I would recommend sending confirmation emails upon mail list signup.
