Outdated Icon format

The app icon in the repo uses the old format of ic_launcher and ic_launcher round.
The newer format includes ->

• ic_launcher.png (for Android 7 and earlier)
• ic_launcher_background.png
• ic_launcher_foreground.png
• ic_launcher_monochrome.png

Instead, in my launcher (rounded squares), I can see the round icon but the rest of the space is filled with white.

Yes, I would like to work on this issue if given permission. (btw, I have published a couple of apps of my own, so I am aware of the process to easily create icons in the above mentioned newer format.)
