I like the separation of indicators from geographies. My biggest issue with the current NDM is that VECTOR is a combination of both, which makes data discovery really cumbersome. Human readable indicator identifiers is great too, helps avoid errors and makes code more readable.
Another feature I think would be useful is the ability to filter by geographic area in the /indicators endpoint, so that one could for example find all indicators that have data for Toronto CMA.
When it comes to geographies, a more transparent way to version geographies would be useful. For example, the geography name should be clearly identifiable as belonging to a specific CMA as CMA boundaries get adjusted. For example, CMA_Montréal_2011 would denote the 2011 CMA boundaries and CMA_Montréal_2016 the 2016 (census) boundaries. It would be nice to allow clear names (or short names) geographic areas as well as census boundaries, maybe CMA_462_2011 or something like that.
