And to answer you question, it works exactly the way like the Web version – client is written in mind of regular user account, but if Discord's login screen allows for bot logins, you should be able to log in my app with bot account as well... I never made myself a bot account, I'm not a fan of an idea of using it for regular chatting. I'm pretty conservative about using Discord unintended way.
