issue with encode-local-sys-0.sh, failing to produce json files

I was having issues and I think it comes back to the encode-local-sys-0.sh file breaking formatting when it removes the end of the lines.

It seems odd that I would be the only one to have an issue, is this something that others have had problems with?

Redoing it using qd has it creating json files once again:
