I'm Sam Blundell, a first-class Economics Graduate from the University of Bristol. I'm passionate about the big topics in Public Economics and Applied Microeconomics, including inequality, health care, welfare and education, and the ways behavioural economics can improve our understanding of these areas. I'm also keenly interested in data analysis and financial markets.

Proficient in Python, Stata, and Excel, I have a strong academic background in economics, specialising in microeconomics, and experience in academic research and finance.

I was awarded the Deaton Prize for my final year dissertation on herding in financial markets.

Here are some of the projects I produced during my degree:

Hello! I'm an aspiring economist set to begin my MPhil in Economics at the University of Oxford, Linacre College with graduation expected in June 2026. I graduated with first-class honours in Economics from the University of Bristol, where I was awarded with the Deaton Prize for the best undergraduate dissertation. My research explored the fascinating effects of COVID-19 lockdown-induced herding in equity markets.

I'm deeply passionate about research, particularly in understanding investor behaviour in financial markets and exploring public economic policy, especially in relation to China. I had the wonderful opportunity to study abroad at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, which broadened my perspective on Chinese markets and global economic schools of thought.

In addition to my academic journey, I gained valuable experience as a research assistant at Bristol, where I conducted research on Chinese foreign and economic policy for the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology. I'm skilled at analysing data and presenting findings in Python, Excel, and Stata.
