Is there any documentation on the Sony website about the commands to receive state from the controller?

Hello guys,
first off - I know I could traverse the whole code and find the pieces that interest me but I am pretty curious:

How do you know, which commands to send to the paired controller in order the receive the battery level or some other states like current firmware on the device and so on?

I mean - it must be documented somewhere? Or how does one find that out?

I can barely find something when searching for these informations.

Reverse Engineering, afaik there is no where Sony has documented anything about the controller outside of maybe the standard DirectInput path. They probably really don't want us touching much else

I can barely believe it - but maybe only partner companies get it... I would really like to know if @Ryochan7 worked at Sony before or if he reverse engineered the commands somehow - if yes - how?

I think it's actually the driver that gets battery state. That would be the ViGEmBus team. The ViGEmBus driver is the middleman between the physical controller and DS4Windows. I don't think D4W actually touches the controller, except through the driver. I could be wrong, though. I can only barely understand most of the code.
