For the computational seismology class the students are asked to use a provided SEM 2D implementation to run a simulation and just show/plot seismograms:

The final homework (9) is using this problem setup: Homework9.pdf

  • Implement example from class (should not take long)

But there is a final project, where the students are being asked to mesh something using CUBIT/TRELIS and what

  • Understand how to create arbitrary meshes for specfem2d using CUBIT
  • Run meshhelper/meshfem2d
  • Run specfem2d
