Hmm looks like libtiff 4.0.3 is not compatible on debian/ubuntu.

kthakore pushed a commit that referenced this issue Aug 12, 2013
fixed the patch so that tiff 4.0.3 works with libjpeg 9. WIP #3.

fwiw, libtiff is now building ok on travis (ubuntu 12.04) with this patch :)
