Updates to BAGIS-Pro

We plan to release BAGIS-Pro to a wider audience so that analysts can generate and have access to the analysis layers. Requested changes:

1. Add input for publisher and comments when using the 'Export to PDF Map Package' tool
2. Hide buttons for 'Clip Layers', 'Generate Analysis Layers', and 'Configure Map Package' tools
3. Add an admin parameter to the batch tool that can be set to 'yes' to show the above buttons. The default values will be 'no'
4. Update the setAOI method to check for the existence of required layers for the 'Load Maps', 'Excel Charts', and 'Export to PDF Map Package' tools. For the sake of performance, we won't check for all the layers. @jdduh Only enable these buttons if the layers are present. Or should we enable the buttons, but pop an error message when trying to run the tools?

Note: The configure Map package tool appears to have been designed for letting users configure and run ad-hoc reports. If this is a need, we could resurrect development of this tool.

Disable the buttons would be more direct. Please disable the buttons that are not ready to be clicked. You can also hide the configure map package under the admin mode. We will make it available to general users when we have more resources to work on BAGIS Pro.

This request is complete and there is a new version of the AddIn on the basins server. The addIn makes entries to the log if the buttons are disabled due to missing layers.

I remembered that I did not address item #1: adding the input for publisher and comments when exporting the map package for a single AOI. I learned how to use the ProWindow framework today to accomplish this task. It's much simpler than the dockable window. It works a lot like an old vb modal form. I tried to test my changes but it looks like ArcGIS server is down on basins :-(

Looks like ArcGIS server is back up. I tested item #1 and posted a new version of the addIn to the FTP server. This issue should be complete.

Add tooltips to disabled buttons. Tooltip incorrect on Toggle Maps button. Should say 'Toggle Maps' for title. Tooltip = 'Use submenu to toggle maps'. All buttons on palette, title = map name, tooltip = Click to display $map name. Excel = 'Click to generate interactive Excel tables'. If maps, excel, export to pdf disabled set tooltip to 'One or more required layers are missing from this AOI'. For Admin tools: Contact your administrator for permissions to run this tool.

I had a thought about the maps intermittently not loading correctly in the main map frame. We converted the original BAGIS V3 code for BAGIS-Pro. This code turns off all of the layers. Then it loops through again and turns on the layers that are relevant to the selected map. I don't think it would be too hard to change this so that we only loop through once. The required layers for a map will be in a collection. As we loop through the layers, we check to see if they are in the collection. If they are, we turn them on and if they're not, we turn them off. We would check the visibility first and only update it if it's different than what we need. Some of the layers like the hillshade and the aoi boundary are in all the maps so it's inefficient to turn them off and on. This would require Pro to refresh the display less, so it may be more successful?

This would not help the multi-pane maps. The problem here seems to be that Pro doesn't refresh the display after the extent is changed to the current AOI. We don't toggle the layers on these maps.

Let me know if you'd like me to try this approach.

Please give it a try. I notice that refreshing the layouts doesn't have any effect on updating the "maps". You will need to refresh the mapframe first so that the layout would display correctly. Here is an example:

1. Changed to Aspect Distribution and got this map:
   
2. Checked the Basin Analysis mapframe. The display looks correct.
   
3. Refreshed the Basin Analysis mapframe. Nothing changed, but...
4. When I got back to the Aspect Distribution layout, the map looked correct.

I reloaded the maps a couple of times and the resulting behaviors of the Toggle Maps functions were different each time. It's not clear what caused the different behaviors. In some occasions, the Toggle Maps functions worked as expected.
