Hello!

I am new here (and also not a developer); if this doesn't belong here, then please let me know.

I absolutely love OpenVPN and their Android client. However, the connection pause feature indefinitely pauses the connection.

There are multiple instances, throughout my day, when I need to temporarily pause the connection and want to stay connected without any manual intervention. However, in the current design, I pause and if/when I forget to reconnect then it stays disconnected.

Can we build a mechanism to pause the connections temporarily like 10s, 30s, 5 minutes, or any custom time (same as PiHole)?

This is also the most supported feature request on Play store review.

Google Play Developer console does not even give an option to sort by helpful reviews. And if this is my app (OpenVPN for Android), the request should have been made on github.com/schwabe/ics-openvpn.

But that aside, this is not a feature that sounds like something I want to actually add to the app, it feels a bit too special case to be hoenst.

Hey @schwabe! appreciate your response.

the request should have been made on github.com/schwabe/ics-openvpn.

Consider this coming from a non-technical user (and I am sure there would be other users who are also not as technical as the broader OpenVPN user base), so please excuse that.

this is not a feature that sounds like something I want to actually add to the app

Sure, your app; therefore, your decision. I respect that.

it feels a bit too special case to be honest.

I am unsure of the total user base of OpenVPN, but the reason I attached the screenshot is to help quantify the impact (286 users supporting this idea which maybe a miniscule number).

Nonetheless, I appreciate the response (this is my first time interacting with a dev of a major OSS project, so feels special :D) Cheers dude! <3
