The OpenChain Automotive Work Group is focused on discussion open source license compliance, open source security assurance, the use of our ISO standards, and the sharing of best practice, reference and education material around these topics from the perspective of the automotive industry. Our activity is centered around our mailing list, calls or face-to-face meetings. You will find many people from automotive companies, Tier 1 suppliers, and more.
The Chair of this work group is Endo San from Toyota.
We held a face-to-face meeting in Stuttgart on the 10th of September 2024 at the Bosch offices.

Our vision is a supply chain where open source is delivered with trusted and consistent process management information. Our mission is to make that happen. The OpenChain Project has an extensive global community of over 1,000 companies collaborating to make the supply chain quicker, more effective and more efficient. We work with our sister projects at The Linux Foundation like SPDX (SBOM), OpenSSF (Security), TODO Group (OSPO) and CHAOSS (Metrics) to help drive forward business management of open source.

Everyone is welcome to be part of the OpenChain Automotive Work Group. Our main contact point is our mailing list. There are no restrictions on who can join our list. Generally there are no restrictions on who can join our events, though some may be held under Chatham House Rule or other conditions to ensure free expression of perspectives.
