Text like the following renders correctly in the preview, but wrong in the editor:

In the editor, it appears as blockquote. The problem is that within a list indented text should only be considered a blockquote if it is indented twice.

You're right. Extra indentation should make a code block, whereas ">" should make a block quote. I don't remember the details of how bug manifested itself, and I can't readily reproduce since I don't use MarkdownMode any more now that Web Essentials has its own markdown preview.
