Thx for the suggestion. I sorta feel torn. I don't want to inflate the word count only for the sake of the challenge cuz there's something about it's current state that is more philosophically pure. Its parity with the original text is an essential and important quality to it. I guess I feel comforted by the idea that: if Nanowrimo inspired Fitzgerald to write The Great Gatsby, it would have been a better choice for his work to stop where he did (shy of 50k) and not technically complete the challenge's somewhat arbitrary (though totally understandable) length requirement. |
