Dear FLORIS team and users , Question: Now I am using FLORIS v3.1.1 to calculate the wake of single yawed turbine, and trying to get the wake nephogram. Then compare the wake nephograms in FLORIS and OpenFOAM. And I find out the wake nephogram cannot show the counter-rotating vortices and the shape is ellipse but not kidney. So I searched on the NREL website (https://www.nrel.gov/wind/floris.html) and the tutorial says FLORIS can show the counter-rotating vortices in the wake using curl model. FLORIS v3.1.1 seems not have the curl model. So if I want to show the kidney shape in the wake model, what should I do?
In tutorial:
Set-up in FLORIS v3.1.1: turbine type :NREL 5 MW turbine;
yaw angle :+50;
files: gch.yaml
inflow condition: uniform wind with speed of 11.4
The following are the wake nephogram at cross-plane in the 5D downstream position using FLORIS.
By the way, is secondary-steering contained in the gch model? The secondary-steering in the horizontal plane is not so obvious.
result in example: 03_making_adjustments.py
Any advice is needed! Thanks for your excellent work!
Best regards!
