OK, ich habe gerade gefunden dass Spotify noch nicht unterstützt wird in Version 3. |

Is there really a path forward to using Spotify with the PhonieBox? Clearly Mopidy has not been updated in years and depended on the Spotify library which is no longer available. |

Thank you very much for reading my question and responding. Thank you. I have 2.8 connecting to Spotify successfully but I don’t get any sound when playing a Spotify playlist
MP3s work fine and I tried the suggestion of first starting an mp3 using a nfc card and then Spotify but that did not work . I rescanned the library as well.
I am using a Raspberry Pi3. Audio is via the on-board audio output. I tried to follow your instructions exactly on the install. When I start a Spotify playlist the player shows that Spotify is playing but there is no sound.
I am really sorry to bother you. I am just to figure out whether to simply give up.

Since 2.8 Phoniebox V2 works with Spotify again.
Phoniebox V3 does not have a working Spotify implementation, because the code base is completely different.

One random observation. When one starts an MP3 playlist, the web interface changes from > to || (pause).
When I start a Spotify playlist a message saying “SpotifyXX is Playing” but ‘>’ never changes to ‘||’ This seems to indicate that Spotify terminated immediately after trying to start.
When I click on the top level Spotify icon that takes me to a different screen (titled “My Playlists") The menu items on the left side are Playlists, Artists, Albums, Tracks, Browse. Clicking on any of these yields a spinning wheel of death and the message SyntaxError: JSON Parse error: Unexpected EOF
pops up in the lower right hand corner
Thanks for your help.
David

Thank you very much for offering to help
But I have looked in the error logs and not seen anything but will check again.
Yes, I have a premium account.
What is perhaps telling is that while the player says Spotify is Playing the > icon never changes to || (pause) line it does with mp3s.
Is there a place via the shell to look
David

Hi could you provide your logs?
Especially after you tried to play Spotify audio?
And do you have a Spotify premium account? Free accounts do not work I think.

in the RPi-Jukebox-RFID/logs directory the file debug.log is empty as is the placeholder file
Could I please ask a dumb question:
In the playlist directory there are two mpu files. The first, corresponding, to a folder I created, contains the paths to a bunch of mp3 files that I uploaded. The lines in that file are of the form: local:track:DixieChicks/…mp3
The second mpu file (whose name also corresponds to a folder I created) has a single line that reads:
spotify:playlist:1h7xr2UUawuKy1ZbY3qkgA
Does this seem correct?
Thank you very much for your help

I am almost certainly confused about how Spotify urls are encoded in a playlist but I grabbed another Spotify playlist URl and it is much much longer:

Hallo zusammen!
Danke!
Christian
