FYI, DeprecationWarning is hidden by default...a simple fix is to change all DeprecationWarnings to FutureWarnings

But they are deprecations, not futures...

I was thinking more in the sense that, "in the future these modules/functions will be removed". The alternative is probably using a deprecated decorator.
