Could anyone please help me better understand the table "carePlanCareProvider"? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I interpreted that the providers listed in this table are all from the on-site team. For each patient-unit-stay, a physician decides the level of intervention from the eICU team. But I still have questions as follows:

  • For each patient-unit-stay, there could be several managing physician entries at different times. Should I consider them most likely to be the same physician that takes charge of the patient?
  • Does the intervention level pre-determined by the physician in advance, or determined by the physician at each time when they see the patient?
  • Also, careProviderSaveOffset is explained as "number of minutes from unit admit time that the care provider was entered". I was wondering what does "the care provider was entered" exactly mean? What triggers an entering of one row of the data?
  • Is there anywhere I can access any information about the eICU team?

In the table description (https://eicu-crd.mit.edu/eicutables/careplancareprovider/), I read "intervention category which denotes the level of oversight and intervention authorized for eICU clinicians for the patient by a managing physician". However, both managing and consulting physicians could have the intervention value. I assume the description was not accurate, and should be rephrased as "the level of oversight and intervention authorized for eICU clinicians for the patient by the corresponding physician"?

Many thanks!
