Request: Item Tooltip - Show Maximum Tier Item from Base Item Level

add roll range mod from item level to know what the highest tier of an item is. eg. resistance ilvl 79 is 40% may show Current tier / Max Tier.

Normally, when I use item info, I often pick up items from the ground to identify with a Scroll of Wisdom. I usually eyeball the graph to see whether it's a max roll or not. But as you can see, since this item is item level 74, there's no way the graph can be full. If I use local scaling, I still can't really tell whether the mod tier is high for the item's level or not.

I'm adding a new roll-range option for the next release which will max out the bars and (x-y) in mod-texts based on the item's ilvl:

But I'm having issues with how to display the max possible tier. I don't really want to add another column of boxes because that would make the right area too busy/cluttered. I played around with displaying x/y where x is current tier and y is max possible tier, but that would require tier-boxes to always be wide/rectangular instead of square, which then also changes symmetry of other boxes. Alternatively, I could make this option override the icons instead so that wide tier-boxes and symmetry are not an issue.

Since it's your suggestion, I'll let you pick:

• bars | normal tier-boxes | icons

• bars | wide tier-boxes with x/y

EDIT: Or maybe you have some other ideas. Let me know what you think.

I'm thinking maybe we should just replace the icon entirely, without using the slash that way it becomes a uniformly shaped rectangle with color-highlighting at the current tier.

Some mods still don’t show the max tier — is that a bug?

There's an option "undesired" overrides bla bla bla and it's enabled by default. It's meant to improve visual clarity because you usually don't care about icons/ilvl/etc. when the mod itself is not desirable.

Oh, okay, I see. Everything looks great, but I was wondering — would it be possible to highlight rolls that are at the max tier in white, similar to how tier 1 looks? Or would that be too complicated? Thanks so much for all your hard work!

I also thought about maxed highlighting but then wasn't sure whether to apply it at 100%, 95%, or making it customizable. The settings menu has a bit more space now so I can think about it again.

Oh, I misread your suggestion. I thought you meant when a mod has the highest possible tier and the roll is maxed out. But you mean when current tier = max possible tier, like this?

At least that's the plan. Implementing these changes for PoE2 was quite easy because the databases are (still) small and clean. PoE1 databases, however, are quite large and also messy at times. It's been a while since I've had a look, maybe they've been cleaned up a bit since then.

I'm using item-data in PoB to derive my own databases, so there's no need for manual compilation, thanks!
