I2c.master issues

I have successfully built and flashed my war driver(except this issue). I followed the guide to the T and when I flash side A, I get the following error in the serial monitor after flashing and it reboots.

"E (21424) i2c.master: s_i2c_synchronous_transaction(924): I2C transaction failed
E (21431) i2c.master: i2c_master_multi_buffer_transmit(1186): I2C transaction failed
E (21439) i2c.master: I2C hardware NACK detected
E (21443) i2c.master: I2C transaction unexpected nack detected
E (21448) i2c.master: s_i2c_synchronous_transaction(924): I2C transaction failed
E (21456) i2c.master: i2c_master_multi_buffer_transmit(1186): I2C transaction failed"

I have tried every version from 1.1.0, all the 1.2.x and the new 1.3.0b firmware. Not matter which version is used I get the above issue and no WiFi network shows up. I uninstalled the LCD screen thinking that might be it(it was wired correctly) but seeing as it worked on the very first original boot, didn't expect much. Which it didn't affect anything. The original first boot did show a message about side b working but then the next line said "N side a no". I'm new to this kind of thing so sorry if its an easy " obvious" fix.
