Button and default shortcut to activate

I would like to have a default keyboard shortcut for this tool. On macOS, I have to configure the letter D manually.

Also, I would like to see an indicator, like a button on the toolbar, to see if this feature is active. This is useful when solving notes or mapping random places, like disconnected rivers.
