How can I expose Perplexica publicly?

Hello, I'm trying to access the perplexica api from another remote container. It gets blocked from a typical 127.0.0.1 address error. How can I configure Perplexica to accept any IP address?
I attempted setting the HOST env variable to 0.0.0.0, after gpt-4.1's suggestion, but it seems not resolved. Thank you

What IP address are you trying to access Perplexica from? Is Perplexica inside a docker container?

perplexica is running using the typical docker compose stack in this repository, hence yes it is inside docker container, but on a remote machine. I'm connecting to it using ssh and doing port forwarding the port 3000. I can wget and retrieve the next js app using this port. But when I'm running another container to access it, it has an IP like 172.17.0.5, it isn't possible.
It isn't possible to run it on the same docker network with perplexica since they are residing on different machines.

The issue is usually with how Docker networking works:

• If you’re trying to connect from another container on the same Docker network, you should use the container name (or its internal IP) instead of 127.0.0.1.

• If you’re connecting from a machine outside Docker but on the same host network, you’ll need to map the container port to the host and then connect via the host machine’s IP.

• If you’re connecting from a completely different machine (not the Docker host), you’ll need the public IP of the Docker host + the exposed port.

I opened Perplexica on a public IP adress and validated that it works publicly, on all IP adresses. Thank you for your help and creating/maintaining this repository.
